1 hour strength workout

I did a quick weights workout during my lunch hour today. It fits perfectly in 60 minutes, giving you 10 minutes to get to the gym and change, and 10 minutes to shower and get back to your desk.  For me that is really more like 5/15.

Warm-up 5 minutes on recumbent bike

Do the following set twice:

  • Pull-ups  – 10
  • Tricep Dips – 10
  • Hamstring push-ups – 10 each leg
  • Chest press from ball , 15lb weights, 10
  • Planks: Any of the following: Plank + Lift \ regular Plank\Side Planks for as long as you can hold them(I did Plank + Lift for 60 seconds the first time, then side planks 45 seconds each the second time)
  • Squats against a wall with a stability ball while holding 15lb weights (20). Then hold the squat for 20 seconds
  • Spiderman push-ups on Bosu  (I did regular pushups on the bosu for the second set) 10
  • Back Extensions on the ball (15)
  • Lunges on ball , 10 each leg. These are freaking hard!
  • 10 jumping lunges
  • Sit-ups (1st set), Bicycle Crunches (2nd set) until fatigue

I could’ve done this faster but I was dragging. My HR was low (under 100 on average) so I need to add some more jumping type stuff into the middle. I need my trainer to help kick my butt!  I swear I could feel a difference over last week since I did a sad workout on Tuesday.  As in, my push-ups were sad and pathetic and I am getting weaker. Bah!  Plus I feel like I may be missing different muscle groups…

healthy meal idea of the day:

lentil soup with Italian sausage and spinach.  This looks delicious! And so good for work lunch leftovers. I haven’t made this exact recipe but I have done some similar soups like  french lentil with spinach.

Edited to add: I actually came home and did the 30 day shred Level 1 with my manfriend. He is trying to get in shape, I think he was a little shocked at how hard it was!
