After spending the weekend out of town, again, I was really looking forward to driving to a nice trail this afternoon for a longish run. Unfortunately the ferry almost an hour later, which pretty much killed my driving time. Instead, I thought I would jog down to the seawall and if it wasn’t busy I would do a mock 5k. It was a beautiful day, on the last day of summer. So clearly the seawall was packed. Tons of families and kids on bikes. (I would like to hereby declare that kids on bikes may very possibly be the worst enemy for the jogger. ) So I decided to go for an easy 10K jog.
So glad I got out there, after our late travels I didn’t feel like it but I felt way less stressed by the time I got home. Running really can be mental therapy. I was a little fast but I tried to slow myself own and not focus too much on pace but rather just run easy. My HR was nice and low which must mean I am getting fitter.
- Distance:6.2 miles
- Time: 1:04:19
- Average Pace: 10:22
- Avg HR\Max HR: 136/161
I am totally looking forward to this week in my training plan. If my calculations are correct this should be my highest mileage week ever and I can look forward to more of that in the future.
